Keith Van Horn scored 28 points and point guard Frank Williams moved into the starting lineup to help the New York Knicks to their most lopsided victory this season, 100-80, over host Miami last night.
The Knicks scored 13 of the game's first 15 points, then closed the third quarter with an 18-2 run to build their advantage to 83-59. Van Horn scored 17 points in the third quarter.
Williams, a second-year guard making his first NBA start, had 14 points -- including baskets in the final seconds of the second and third periods.
Miami was without rookie starting guard Dwyane Wade, who sprained his right wrist in a victory at Washington on Friday. His status is day-to-day.
The crowd included U.S. Open champion Andy Roddick and his girlfriend, actress-singer Mandy Moore, former Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard and Texas Rangers shortstop Alex Rodriguez.

Kidd had 16 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds for his NBA-leading sixth triple-double of the season as the visiting Nets withstood a fourth-quarter rally.

Kidd had 24 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds in a win over Detroit on Friday night.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, this was the third time Kidd had triple-doubles on consecutive nights.
* PISTONS 87, HAWKS 84: Ben Wallace made two late free throws -- his first points of the game -- and had a block on the next possession to help Detroit on the road.
Richard Hamilton scored 28 points and Bob Sura added a season-high 13 for the Pistons, who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Sura was the 24th player this season to get his highest point total against Atlanta.
Wallace was 0 for 3 from the field but came through at the line after being fouled on a layup with 1 minute 44 seconds left and the score tied at 81. Just a 53 percent foul shooter, he swished both.
Atlanta went to Abdur-Rahim on its next possession, but Wallace blocked his turnaround jumper and rebounded the miss. The Pistons worked the ball to Hamilton, who banked in a shot from near the top of the key with Dion Glover's hand in his face.
* MAVERICKS 104, GRIZZLIES 98: In Dallas, Michael Finley scored 24 points, including a key three-pointer and another long jumper in the closing minutes, and Dirk Nowitzki had 18 points and 17 rebounds.
The Grizzlies got a scare when Coach Hubie Brown, 70, needed medical attention during a timeout with 4:51 left. He recovered quickly and remained on the bench the rest of the game.

The Oklahoma State and Ole Miss football teams, in town for the Cotton Bowl, attended the game.
* TIMBERWOLVES 104, SONICS 86: Kevin Garnett had 28 points and 14 rebounds, and Trenton Hassell shut down Ray Allen in Seattle.
Sam Cassell scored 10 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter. Fred Hoiberg scored 14 and Latrell Sprewell had 12 for Minnesota.
Allen had 15 points but shot just 5 for 22 against Hassell, who has emerged as Minnesota's defensive stopper after being waived by Chicago on Oct. 23.
Things had been painful for New York, Dikembe Mutombo, right, until a 20-point win over the Heat.
