SI has Mike Dantonio coaching Michigan State to the playoffs. Whos Mike Dantonio?

“Hi, I’m Mark Dantonio and I have DirecTV.”

“Yoo, I’m Mike Dantonio and I have cable.”

One of these guys is on the cover of the new Sports Illustrated and he doesn’t have a satellite dish on his roof. In one of the more glaring cover errors in some time, the magazine published its College Football Playoff special preview with the incorrect name of Michigan State’s head coach Mark Dantonio.

In this case, it was an actual major mistake, versus say in 2008, when they only misspelled Georgetown guard DaJuan Summers’s name, writing it as “DaJaun.” But, to be fair, people screw up Dantonio’s name all the time. One time, ESPN straight up introduced him as Mike D’Antoni, a guy who coached pro basketball, not college football.

Hopefully these covers are regional so all of America isn’t subjected to this egregious error, though we can pretty much guarantee this will be a theme at “College Gameday” on Saturday.
